The Bihar government, led by Nitish Kumar, has announced plans to build a grand temple dedicated to Mata Sita in the Sitamarhi district of Bihar. This decision comes two months after the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The state government has decided to acquire 50 acres of land around the existing temple in Sitamarhi for the construction of the new temple. The decision was taken during a Bihar cabinet meeting. Kameshwar Chaupal, a former MLC of Bihar, stated that Sitamarhi is a holy place for Hindus and is considered the birthplace of Mata Sita. He compared the significance of Sitamarhi for Sita to that of Ayodhya for Lord Rama.
