Ram temple built due to commitment of those in power; India already a Hindu Rashtra: Bhagwat

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat recently stated that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was made possible by the unwavering commitment of those currently in power, specifically praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Bhagwat emphasized that while the temple movement had persisted for decades, its realization required a government that shared the cultural and religious aspirations of the people. He further asserted that India is already a “Hindu Rashtra” in a cultural sense, arguing that the term “Hindu” encompasses all residents of the country who identify with its ancient civilization and values, regardless of their specific mode of worship. Bhagwat noted that the temple serves as a symbol of national awakening and self-respect, marking a shift toward a more confident and culturally rooted India. He concluded that the goal of the RSS remains the total integration of society based on these shared values, rather than just political or structural change.
