The Indo-Canadian community has expressed concern over a series of burglaries at Hindu temples in Ontario, Canada. The most recent incident occurred at the Vaishno Devi Mandir in Oakville, where a significant amount of cash was stolen from donation boxes, offices were ransacked, and video recording equipment was taken.
This is not an isolated incident. Since September of the previous year, at least six Hindu temples in the province have been broken into, including the Devi Mandir in Pickering, Sankat Mochan Mandir in Ajax, Hindu Mandir Durham in Oshawa, Chintpurni Temple in Brampton, Rameshwar Mandir in Caledon, and the Hindu Heritage Centre in Mississauga.
In December, a 41-year-old man named Jagdish Pandher was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement in multiple temple robberies. However, the community remains concerned, with some members calling for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to address the issue as an ongoing problem rather than treating each incident as isolated.
