A delegation of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs who fled Afghanistan to escape religious persecution and to ensure their personal safety met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s acting Foreign Minister, at the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi.
Indian media outlets reported on Monday night, October 13, that members of the community asked Muttaqi to guarantee their security, protect their properties, and rebuild their religious sites in Afghanistan.
Guljit Singh, head of the Guru Nanak Sahib Ji Gurdwara in New Delhi, said that the community members made it clear they would only return to Afghanistan if the Taliban could ensure their complete safety.
