[ The Times Of India ] Shut for years, Siddheshwar Mahadev shrine reopens in Kashi

The Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple, closed for decades in Varanasi's Muslim-dominated Madanpura, was reopened with the help of the district administration and police. Keys were handed over to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Local Muslim residents and various Hindu organizations collaborated peacefully in cleaning and securing the temple, planning its revival post-Makar Sankranti.

The Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple in Varanasi’s Madanpura area, which had been closed for decades, was recently reopened with the help of the district administration and police. The temple keys were handed over to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). Local Muslim residents and various Hindu organizations cooperated peacefully in cleaning and securing the temple. The temple’s revival plans will be finalized after Makar Sankranti.
