Reno-based Hindu statesman Rajan Zed is scheduled to deliver opening prayers at eight different city councils across Southern California throughout February 2026. The invocation, which will be read from ancient Sanskrit scriptures including the Rig-Veda, Upanishads, and Bhagavad-Gita, aims to bring a message of peace, selfless service, and unity to local government proceedings. Zed’s planned tour includes appearances before the city councils of Palm Springs, Indio, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Coachella, La Quinta, Indian Wells, and Rancho Mirage. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide a Hindu perspective in public forums and foster interfaith dialogue within diverse American communities. By reciting these prayers, which conclude with the traditional peace invocation “Om Shanti Shanti Shanti,” the statesman intends to highlight the shared human values of wisdom and welfare for all citizens regardless of their background.
