The article commemorates the birth anniversary of Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar, popularly known as Shri Guruji, who served as the second Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). It describes him as a profound thinker and visionary leader whose leadership from 1940 to 1973 was pivotal in transforming the RSS into a major socio-cultural force in India. The narrative highlights his commitment to the philosophy of cultural nationalism, emphasizing that he viewed the nation not merely as a political entity but as an organic, spiritual community rooted in ancient Hindu values. Under his guidance, the organization expanded its reach into various sectors, including education and tribal welfare, while fostering a sense of discipline and selfless service among its members. The piece further explores his intellectual contributions through works like “Bunch of Thoughts,” which continue to influence the ideological framework of Hindu nationalism. Ultimately, the article portrays Golwalkar as an architect of national character whose life and teachings were dedicated to the social and spiritual rejuvenation of Bharat.
