A new Hindu temple, Pura Satya Dharma, has been inaugurated in Batam’s Muka Kuning industrial park to serve Hindu workers in the area. The Religious Affairs Ministry led the inauguration, which included the Ngenteg Linggih ceremony, a traditional Hindu ritual inviting divine presence into the temple. The temple was built with support from a local company and aims to foster spiritual harmony and a positive workplace culture. Officials hope it will serve Hindus from various ethnic backgrounds, not just Balinese Hindus. The Batam Religious Affairs Office has assigned a Hindu religious counselor and provided operational budget support to ensure ongoing religious activities. The Hindu population in Batam is estimated at around 1,200 people.
