Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, after being sworn in for his fourth term, has pledged to “cleanse” the administration of the Tirupati-Tirumala temple. He alleges that there were irregularities under the previous regime of Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the temple. Naidu is committed to eliminating corruption and protecting ‘Hindu Dharma’ in Tirumala, stating, “I will start the purification of governance from Tirumala. Only the chanting of Govinda’s name will remain in Tirumala.”
Naidu, who recently offered prayers at the temple, is set to return to Amaravati and take charge at the Secretariat, where he will sign files related to poll promises, teachers’ recruitment, and enhancements to social pensions for beneficiaries.
The TDP-Jana Sena-BJP NDA alliance, led by Naidu, recently returned to power in the state by winning a majority of assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies. Naidu was unanimously elected as the Chief Minister designate by the NDA alliance and was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at a special ceremony.
