A Hindu temple in Greenwood, Indiana, was vandalized with anti-India graffiti on August 10, marking the fourth such attack on the site within a year. The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir condemned the act as one of “hate and intolerance against Hindus,” emphasizing the community’s resilience and unity in the face of repeated desecration. The organization urged peace and solidarity amid rising anti-Hindu incidents in the U.S., some of which have been linked to pro-Khalistani groups. Earlier in March, another BAPS temple in California was similarly targeted ahead of a Khalistani referendum event. India’s Ministry of External Affairs had strongly condemned that incident, calling for swift action from U.S. authorities. The recurring nature of these attacks has raised serious concerns about targeted hate crimes against the Hindu diaspora in America. Despite the adversity, the temple community remains committed to promoting harmony and religious tolerance.
