The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) has proposed banning “non-Sanatanis” from setting up food stalls at the 2025 Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. This decision follows several incidents where food was allegedly contaminated with urine and spit.
The ABAP plans to pass a resolution after Diwali and submit it to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for approval. Additionally, the ABAP aims to replace Urdu terms with Hindi ones to maintain the religious sanctity of the event. The proposal has sparked discussions about the measures needed to ensure the safety and purity of the food served at the Kumbh Mela.
