Even after the new government has taken office, the killing of Hindus continues to rise; Two Hindus named Akash and Chandan murdered in Chattogram

  • The report from HinduPost details a surge in violence against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh following the installation of a new government, specifically focusing on two brutal murders in Chattogram. Akash Das, a young factory worker, was reportedly killed by a group of extortionists after he attempted to protect a colleague and resisted their financial demands. In a separate incident, 70-year-old Chandan Dey was shot dead in front of his wife by an armed gang during a livestock robbery at his home. These events have sparked significant alarm and condemnation from the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, which expressed deep concern that the promised stability of the new administration has failed to halt the cycle of anti-Hindu persecution. The community continues to demand swift justice and the enactment of special security laws to protect religious minorities from persistent threats of extortion, land occupation, and physical violence.
