AFP fact-checked a viral video purportedly showing “extremist Hindus” attacking relatives of Bangladeshi patients at a Punjab, India hospital. In reality, the clip is from a mining dispute in Pakistan-held Kashmir and shows a local brawl over mining rights, not a religiously motivated attack factcheck.afp.comfactcheck.afp.com.

Authorities confirmed that no Bangladeshi nationals were involved and the claim of “Indian extremist Hindu terrorists” targeting Bangladeshi patients is entirely false factcheck.afp.comfactcheck.afp.com.

This misleading misinformation was widely shared on social media but debunked by verifying the clip’s actual context and location.
