Ahead of the Ayyappa Sangamam event at Sabarimala, BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar has demanded public apologies from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for their alleged past actions and remarks against Hindus and Ayyappa devotees. Chandrasekhar accused Vijayan of police violence and legal action against devotees during previous protests, and criticized Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi for derogatory comments about Hinduism. He labeled the event as a political “drama” staged by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) government in Kerala, especially with elections approaching. Chandrasekhar insisted that both leaders must seek forgiveness from Lord Ayyappa and withdraw cases against devotees if they wish to attend the religious gathering. He warned that BJP workers would resist any attempt to politicize the faith of Sabarimala devotees, emphasizing that the party would not tolerate disrespect toward Hindu traditions.
