The Brishti Ganesh Temple, a Nepali-style Hindu temple, was inaugurated at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo, Australia. Built in memory of Brishti Shrestha, a young girl who died of brain cancer, the temple honors all children lost to the disease. The project united volunteers, donors, and artisans from Nepal and Australia, with over three tonnes of cultural items shipped from Kathmandu. Located in a multifaith Peace Park, the temple symbolizes interfaith harmony, with leaders from Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and Sikhism attending the opening. Future plans include adding traditional Nepali spouts around the temple.
