During an anti-encroachment drive in Sambhal, authorities discovered an ancient Shiva temple in a locked house that had been abandoned since the 1978 riots. The temple contains statues of Lord Shiva and Hanuman, and an ancient well was also found outside. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will determine the temple’s age, and it will be handed over to its rightful owners. The discovery has led to an investigation into property ownership and actions against encroachers.
