In preparation for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, various Akharas, including Juna, Agni, and Awahan, have initiated the ceremonial ritual of installing the Dharma Dhwaja (religious flag) at their designated sites. This marks the beginning of setting up their camps, known as chavaani. The flag is hoisted on a wooden trunk supported by ropes, and the akharas will enter the mela area in a procession called Peshwai, now referred to as chavaani pravesh. Other akharas, such as Niranjani and Bada Udasin, will also perform the ritual in the coming days.
