Acharya Dixit was a renowned scholar and Yajurveda teacher of Sangveda Vidyalaya. He was a part of the scholarly tradition of Kashi. He had led a team of 121 priests to perform the rituals of Ram Lalla’s consecration at the Ram Janambhumi temple in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed their grief over his demise. PM Modi mentioned that Dixit’s demise is an irreparable loss for society. CM Yogi Adityanath also expressed his condolences, stating that Dixit’s passing is an irreparable loss to the spiritual and literary world.
Dixit’s family, originally from Maharashtra, had dwelled in Kashi for the past 10 generations. His son, Arun Dixit, mentioned that his father was well until he woke up in the morning. He was busy with his morning routine activities when he fell on the floor and died around 6:45 am.
