The Hindu Council of New Zealand (HCNZ) has announced that the 6th New Zealand National Hindu Conference will take place on May 16, 2026, at the Swaminarayan Complex in Auckland. Centered on the theme “Growing Communities, Thriving New Zealand,” the event aims to bring together over 200,000 Hindus living in Aotearoa to discuss community cohesion and their contributions to the country’s social and civic life. The conference will feature six thematic sessions covering key areas such as engagement with government agencies, youth identity, political representation, and the role of media and academia in addressing misrepresentation. Additionally, the program will focus on bridging diaspora divides and strengthening the “pillars” of the community, including temples and language schools, to preserve Hindu heritage for future generations. Registration is open to both the Hindu community and the wider public, with opportunities for individuals to join the organizing committee or contribute as speakers and sponsors.
